Constant Contact

22 Immediately he made the disciples get into the boat and go before him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds. 23 And after he had dismissed the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone, (Matthew 14:22-23 ESV)

How much time do you carve out of your day to spend alone with God in prayer?

I am going to boldly say not enough. If your life is anything like mine the day gets hectic and I am lucky to spend time in prayer first thing in the morning and just before going to bed. And brother, that ain’t enough!

If Christ regularly separated Himself, found a quiet place and prayed, how much more do we need to!?

Without regular communion and time alone with God we will quickly begin to adhere to the ways of the world. The enemy will win his battle of keeping us distracted and he will begin to whisper more and more evil into our ear. No, we need to be in more constant contact with God so that we can keep the world and the enemy at bay.

Reflect on: How much time are you giving yourself each day to be alone with God?
