30 Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book;31 but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. (John 20:30-31 ESV)
What does it take to believe in the risen Christ? In His day it took signs and wonders. How often during the time the disciples were with Him did they doubt? How much did Jesus have to show them before they truly believed?
This is why scripture tells us that belief without seeing is even stronger. I means that we are taking God’s word completely upon faith. This is no small thing.
We have this infinitesimally small life on this huge planet in an even more enormous galaxy, and yet, God cares for us. It would be like us caring for the smallest fish in our vast oceans, but greater yet.
God makes it His business to be involved in our infinitesimally small lives, each of us. He comes to us a a friend and is closer than family. We need only believe for this to be so. Even though we do not see, may not hear and may only ever sense His presence, He is there. For our smallest cares and our greatest events, He is there.
Reflect on: God’s presence in your life.
