Restless in my Complaint

1 Give ear to my prayer, O God,
    and hide not yourself from my plea for mercy!
Attend to me, and answer me;
    I am restless in my complaint and I moan, (Psalms 55:1-2 ESV)

We can often find ourselves “restless in our complaints and moaning”. I am sure God hears a lot of this. We want Him to work on our timeframe which is always, right now! This old world has done nothing but foster the “must have it now” mentality. It is the reason so many end up in such debt as they cannot wait to have the money for what they want. We are not patient.

Look, I get this. I am not a patient man. I was talking to a coworker just yesterday about how quickly or slowly people process information. Just like computers we all have a processor speed. It would seem we have the same issue with God. We want Him, the God of the universe, to process faster.

Maybe the time has come to slow down and to let things happen in their own time, which is in God’s time.

Reflect on: Are you restless in your complaints? Do you moan about things not happening quickly enough? Do you need to slow down?
