1 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things again is no trouble to me, and it is a safeguard for you. (Philippians 3:1)
There are many who read these devotions each day and I am grateful for everyone who does. I began them as an outlet for writing I was not using anywhere else and as a reminder each day to myself to begin the day with God. But Paul puts it well in our scripture today, “To write the same things again is no trouble to me, and it is a safeguard for you.” At least that is my hope and prayer.
I get new things out of scripture every day. Whether it is a word (like safeguard) that draws my attention to some aspect of how I am living my faith life, or some turn of a phrase that brings to life Christ working in each of us. I have come to believe, as it is written, every word of scripture is useful for some aspect of who we are, how we live and how Christ lives in us.
If only I read what I wrote and posted each day that would be enough. But I hear from others often enough to know that God’s word is getting out. That His ministry through me is sufficient, useful and something I wake each day wanting to do.
So to you, dear reader, if I have not said it, thank you for reading. But ever more so, thank you for being faithful and listening to God through these words.
