² The Lord answered me:

Write down this vision;
clearly inscribe it on tablets
so one may easily read it. (Habakkuk 2:2 CSB)

I journal avidly and highly suggest everyone does. Doing so provides me clarity on what I think and what God shares through scripture. Part of that is these devotions as well. I view what I write here as messages from the Spirit.

I have journals dating back many years and trends in my life can be clearly seen through them. They provide insight into the times of my life in hindsight. They especially provide a clear view of how God has worked in my life.

They also provide a source of vision to just how I handle my problems and God’s advice. Those things I see as reoccurring themes are, typically, areas where I need improvement and I am not learning my lessons.

When we have both the scripture and our actions noted side by side, God has much to work with on how we mature as Christians.
