10 One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation. (Romans 10:10 CSB)
While we may believe quietly, we must confess loudly.
I was having lunch with a good friend yesterday and we were talking about how one never knows what is actually going on with another. Only when we talk about our situation can we hope to have others help us. There is a great need, especially with men, for open discourse.
Another friend says I am too transparent, and he is right in many ways. But this is how I am wired.
The same is true with our faith. We “work out our salvation” by sharing it and doing good works for God. This is not to say we are saved by either, but it is an out flowing of our love for God. But our transparency about what God is doing in our lives is important for others to see and hear.
When we have faith, but we never speak our faith, then who is to know.
But you say, it is through what I do. Good, but where is God glorified in that if no one knows who you are working for.
Our path in life should be continually seeded with divine appointments. Chances to share our faith and at the very least to show Christ love. I find these more and more as I spend more and more time in the Word.
Yes, you may face some forms of persecution for being open about your faith. People may make fun of you, or could walk away from you, but count it all joy.
