“Commit your day to the Lord.”

What or who do you commit your day to? We may like to say God, but do we make that conscious choice each morning. When we make a conscious choice to commit our day to the Lord we are activating a portion of our brain that should then make choices based on this commitment. We are also making a heart choice to be good stewards of what God has given us. We have time, talents and treasure to give each day and choices to make in how we spend them.

There is a feeling I get when I am consciously with God each moment of my day. My perspective is lighter, my day feels easier and things, even when they go wrong, feel hopeful and promising. This is a perspective shift we make when we choose to commit our work and our actions to God. We are no longer simply doing them for ourselves or to fulfill some random responsibility. We have purpose and guidance for the day.

Reflect on: The last time you felt purpose and guidance for the day. Now, commit your work and this day to the Lord and see how that changes.
