¹² But as many as received Him, to them He gave the ^[a]right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: (John 1:12 NKJV)

We have each been given a right, under Christ, when we received Him to become children of God. Believing in His name, we inherited His kingdom and gained a new Father in heaven.

That alone should be enough to get us up each morning with the desire to tell others of His good news. But we want more. Heaven is not enough and our human state craves more here on earth. However, what we should be craving is more of Him. Not more stuff, but more God, so that our testimony represents all of the wonders of what a loving God has done for us.

When we just strive for more and more material things all we gain is greater burden. There is a heaviness that comes with more stuff, that does not come with more of Jesus. In fact His burden is light and His yoke easy, taking up our cross to follow Him.
