4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of his great love that he had for us,[a]5 made us alive with Christ even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace! 6 He also raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavens in Christ Jesus, (Ephesians 2:4-6 CSB)
Because we have so much difficulty loving ourselves very often that we may not always fully understand the greatness of God’s love.
When our scripture says God is “rich in mercy, BECAUSE of his great love for us” it conveys the true feelings God has for us. The rest of the scripture goes on to really emphasize this by pointing out that He made us alive, saved us and then raised us up.
Thus, in His love he not only shows us great mercy, but He displays his great love for each of us individually. Our God is a god of intimate, personal interaction. He loves us in a way that is unique to us, based on who He made us to be and how He is shaping us.
So never forget just what great love and mercy God has shown you and I and know today that He loves you completely.
