Strict Control

27 Instead, I discipline my body and bring it under strict control, so that after preaching to others, I myself will not be disqualified. (1 Corinthians 9:27 CSB0

If you have ever undergone a difficult physical training program, a rigorous diet or simply wanted to better manage your physical state, there is a need for strict control.

The same can be said for a study program. I have a friend who is back in school after many, many years. He must maintain strict control over his “study days” to make sure that he completes the program.

Our faith lives also need strict control. Without it we fall victim of the enemy’s many distractions and desires to derail our growth in Christ. This is where we must make a pact with our eyes, our thoughts and our actions. We must have others to hold us accountable. Without this, alone, much like with the former examples it is hard to maintain strict control.

Reach out to another who can hold you strictly accountable.
