The world is a seductive place and man’s heart is inclined to sin. Pair these with the enemy’s constant meddling in the lives of everyone on earth and darkness is an easy path to take. It requires a lot of discipline to walk in the light.
18 to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified[a] by faith in Me.’ (Acts 26:18 NKJV)
”A little rain may fall”, “This too will pass”, “If you are going through hell, keep on walking”
There are so many platitudes we use for times of darkness in our life. Most come from others who do not know what to say, some are ingrained in our heads and we tell ourselves. None really feel good, although most have some root in the truth. I prefer to think of it in more of a metaphor of night and day, as I tend to wake up in the middle of the night with many thoughts on my brain that keep me awake. I have to remember two things, that the morning will come and with it the light and that if I will just lay my concerns and Jesus feet and not pick them up again He will be there for me.
We must simply stay on a path that is continually toward the light. This is the faith life.
Reflect on: Your path toward the light, is it continual or measured by too many stops in the darkness?
