25The fear of mankind is a snare,
but the one who trusts in the Lord is protected. (Proverbs 29:25 CSB)
We concern ourselves so with the cares and opinions of the world.
Social Media has created this feeling that we need to record all of our happiness. At the same time we choose to feel that our lives are dull by comparison to what everyone is posting.
Everything we watch points us toward having all we want and living at the edges of our capabilities.
But is this truly happiness?
Do we ever feel truly secure and happy, or is it an illusion we are trying to convince others of?
We fear what others may think of our lives, of us, if they truly knew us.
But as our scripture tells us, “the one who trust in teh Lord is protected.” Isn’t this so much better than fake happiness? To feel truly secure and protected in the service of God?
Of course it is. Happiness is fleeting, but joy in the Lord can be found easily.
