4 For he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in love before him.
Blameless – not a word I would use in relation to myself. In fact quite the opposite.
Yet, through my belief and faith this is the word God uses in in relation to me. This is hard to fathom.
We are not seen through worldly eyes, luckily. God’s love for us supersedes all things through belief and faith in Christ. He not only sees us as blameless, but he sees us as holy. Another word I would not select for myself.
This is because he chose us in Him. Meaning, He saw fit to redeem us through the blood of Christ, His only Son and still gave us the freedom to choose His path or our own. And through this choice we see ourselves through the eyes of our choices. Yes, once we come to the saving grace of Christ we are washed clean of all sin. But this does not assure us that we will no longer sin. Only that we are forgiven of those sins.
These things are too wonderful to understand in light of how I am typically.
