8 Remove falsehood and lies far from me;
Give me neither poverty nor riches—
Feed me with the food allotted to me; (Proverbs 30:8 NKJV)
Rarely do we hear people about people searching for adequacy. No, we want success, power, riches and just more. Rarely do you find someone who says, “I am good with what I have.” The world teaches us the lesson of obtain as much as humanly possible, when it is only God we need.
I really like this verse. It gets to the root of a good life. Removing falsehoods and lies, strive to be neither rich nor poor, just seek what is allotted to you, nothing more, nothing less. This is all about learning the riches of God, His Word and His promises. It puts an end to our ceaseless striving and lets us get on with just living a life taking joy in what we have, needing nothing more. But how often can we say we truly live like this?
Reflect on: What you have and what you need. Maybe your search would be better served looking for adequacy.
