A Higher Level of Trust

20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21 NKJV)

Could it be that what God is calling you to be or do, is not a challenge to a calling, but more a calling to a higher level of trust in Him?

I once considered doing something in ministry. I thought I was begin called at an early age, in fact I probably was. However, I listened to other voices and made a secular career that has been good, but was something that I never felt fit just right. Thus, my life has been a series of different ministry opportunities that have lead me down many roads. That call upon my life never really went away, it was always there calling me to do more.

When we go a different direction than God is leading we often find ourselves being drawn back into a path of His choosing. I am not sure I would have been a good pastor, but God has shown me many different teaching, writing and service roles that have worked well. I have even, at times, done something preaching, but that was somewhere I never felt really comfortable.

God calls us and if we do not heed that call, but strive for a faith filled life, He will call us to ever higher levels of trust in Him.

Reflect on: What God has called you to a higher level of trust in Him for.
