33 The lot is cast into the lap,
But its every decision is from the Lord. (Proverbs 16:33 NKJV)
For most people who have lived a while, there comes a time when we look back and can form regrets about what we did or did not do. However, if you are in the Lord and of the faith you need to learn to love your fate, Amor Fati, in Latin.
Look, it is easy to carry baggage late into life and allow regrets to create anxiety and depression. But learning how to embrace our fate, even our bad decisions, comes from accepting what we have learned. Every decision in life is a learning experience. Yes, in faith we desire to follow the Lord and know His desires for our decisions. But let’s face it, we do not always allow God to make our decisions, we are human. However, even the bad decisions God can turn to our good.
Learning to love our fate is about accepting that fate. Accepting the good with the bad and creating God inspired wisdom from both. When we begin to embrace this love of life as we have lived it we begin to get rid of baggage and love where we are.
Reflect on: Your decisions, good and bad, and how they have shaped your life. Amor Fati
