18 “Come now, let us reason[a] together, says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool. (Isaiah 1:18 ESV)
God invites us to reason with Him when it comes to our sinful ways. Consider this for a moment. The God of the universe wants to reason with us. It makes sense, as we tend to be unreasonable creatures. Doing what we know is wrong, because it feels right to us. So God ask us to take a moment and reason with Him.
He goes on to tell us just what we need to reason with Him about. Our sins are like scarlet. Meaning they are a blood that covers us completely, we are awash in them and we do not recognize how it stains us. But then He reasons with us about them and tells us that His love will wash them white as snow.
Reflect on: Reasoning with God, so that you realize before it is too late the crimson that covers you.
