31 And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness. (Acts 4:31 ESV)
Have your prayers shaken either the place where you pray or you specifically? I will hazard that they probably haven’t. It’s not that I don’t think your prayers are enough to have this effect, we just do not experience being shaken much. And we should.
“The prayers of the righteous availeth much.” James 5:16
But do we believe it? Do we really feel like heaven is being shaken when we come together in congregation? I have been apart of numerous very focused prayer groups and sessions that I really feel like produced change. I have watched as people and circumstances were impacted through personal prayer.
This requires one very important component that is included at the end of our scripture. We must “speak the word of God with boldness”. Our hesitation and timid nature when it comes to prayer or things of faith is what holds us back.
Reflect on: Are you speaking the word with boldness and seeking to shake the foundations of yourself or a situation?
