23 And Jesus said to him, “‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.” 24 Immediately the father of the child cried out[a] and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!” (Mark 9:23-24 ESV)
How often are we like the father in this story? We want to believe, but we need help with our unbelief.
Faith can be difficult. When things turn out bad multiple times in a row or we pray and it seems God is not answering. It can be easy for our faith to waver. John 20:29 – Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” Our belief requires believing in the unseen, the unspoken and the unresolved.
Faith often requires that we thank God for blessings we have yet to see.
Reflect on: Your unbelief. Those times when you could not see, could not hear and did not experience…yet, you believed.
