28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me,[a] is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. (John 10:28-29 ESV)
Once you have believed and come to faith, do you realize that you cannot be snatched away from God?
This is a profound statement that should receive its just due. We can surely distance ourselves from God. We can also have periods where God seems distant. But the reality is the Holy Spirit is with you always once you come to believe. Christ becomes a close friend and confidant. God the Father is ever looking over you. It is a far more intimate relationship than people give credence to.
So, once in God’s grace and mercy, you are there for eternity. However, this does not mean that you can go and sin as you like. No! It means that this faith should make us desire good works on God’s behalf. It should make us want to share the good news so that others cannot be snatched away.
The enemy is forever trying to convince us that God does not really care. He is not there for us. But the enemy is not called the father of lies for nothing. He not only lies to us, but he lies to himself. You see, we have great power over the enemy through the blood of Jesus Christ. So his only tactic is to lure us away, since he has no power to snatch us from God’s hand.
