2 I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.” (Psalm 16:2 ESV)
When we finally recognize that we truly have no good apart from God, we begin on a path to the fullness of our faith. We must recognize that God is in everything, good and bad. He desires the good and He allows the bad for the fulfillment of His plans. We may not know what those plans are and may not understand why God allows bad things to happen, but He has a reason.
Thus, I often pray about Christ being in all things and through all things. That He so permeates my life that I filter all thoughts and experiences through Him. Essentially, making Christ a part of everything in my life.
This is not always easy, but when I realize the truth about today’s scripture I realize that I have no good apart from Him. My life is hollow without Christ in it all and through it all. I am a shell of a man without Him. Have I perfected this? No. But I strive for it.
When we know where our good comes from we will want nothing less than that good in everything.
