3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, 5 who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. (1 Peter 1:3-5 ESV)
When we read this bit of scripture and search ourselves, do we truly feel that we have a living hope in the inheritance described? When we have troubles on this earth it can seem so very far away and it may be easy for us to lose hope. But fear not, God has given us the mercy, salvation and the power to overcome this world. You may not readily feel this, but it is there for you.
The living hope we have been given can and will endure this age. The Lord is coming back, maybe sooner than any of us can imagine. We should always be living as if the end is near. No man knows the hour, but the world is ripe for His return.
No matter what befalls us here, we have a living hope that we can rely on.
