Consider One Another

23 Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, since he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to provoke love and good works, 25 not neglecting to gather together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day approaching. (Hebrews 10:23-25 CSB)

Who do you consider day to day? Your family? Your friends? Your coworkers? Random people you meet? Your brothers and sisters in Christ?

We are called to consider one another. This means all people, yes. But, we are especially called to consider one another in the faith. We are to do this, not to be exclusive but to encourage each other in our faith. With God alone, we are capable of moving mountains. But God wanted us to come together in our faith and move the world. Mountains may be small things, but moving a planet is quite another. God knew we would need others for this task, and He set us about it together.

If you think my statement only metaphor, consider the task God set before the disciples. Go to the ends of the earth and reach all people. They could not do this alone and nor can we. We need to consider one another in order to provoke love and good works, not neglecting to gather together, but encouraging each other.

And make no mistake, the day is approaching.

What day? The day the Lord will return and call for an accounting from each of us. And while we will be called to a personal accounting it will involve just how much we considered one another.
