There are times in our lives when we really have no idea what the future holds. We are unsure of our next step and unclear on what we need to do next. In these times each day can feel like a question mark without an answer and the feeling can last days, weeks, months or even a full season.
1 Now the LORD said to Abram, “Go forth from your country, And from your relatives And from your father’s house, To the land which I will show you; (Genesis 12:1)
These times require two things; faith in God and a desire to simply move forward, even if you do not know where you are going.
I have encountered whole seasons like this and it was not a comfortable state. I doubt Abram felt great about God’s command, but he was faithful and followed the Lord’s instructions. And during these times we have to do the same, even when those instructions are not clear. God did not tell Abram where he was going, He just said go, and Abram went.
We want to think there are, but there are no sure things in life. Everything has an expiration date, this is how we have to look at life. It is in the trusting God where life changes from a broken and unsure road to a path to our next adventure.
Reflect on: Unsure times and how you trusted, or didn’t, in God’s plan even if you did not see it clearly.
