Put on Love

14 Above all, put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. (Colossians 3:14 CSB)

When you are getting dressed in the morning do you think you need to also “put on love”?

Looking at love almost like a garment we would put on for the day provides us a different take on what we are about. When we put on love we are readying for a day where what we have put on is preparing us for the world we are about to walk into.

It can be a protection from the abusive nature of the world around us each day. It can be a warm blanket that embraces us throughout the day, reminding us that we are loved children of the Father. It can be something we wrap around others we encounter who are hurting or simply need reassuring. It can be an attitude we take about us throughout our day to remind us of the warmth others need in our interactions with them

Yes, putting on love has many positive inward and outward manifestations. There is much we get out of facing each day wrapped in love’s embrace. Others benefit just as much from this state of being through our every interaction. We find that when we are about love in our lives that much which would have caused us concern fades away. In the face of love frustrations and anger subsides.

When we put on love, we are preparing ourselves and providing the inward and outward appearance of Christ. For God so loved the world….
