Rabbit Holes

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4 KJV)

There are certain scriptures that just read better in the King James Version. In fact the entire Lord’s Prayer is best read in this version if you ask me.

While I tend toward the Christian Standard Bible, I refer to many different versions and commentaries when it comes to scripture. I am seeking the purest form of the passage and since I do not know Greek or Aramaic, I must go to those I can read.

Isn’t it this way with most things. If we begin to research something we are often seeking the purest version of what we are digging into. However, I guess that depends if you are predisposed to wanting to understand a topic that deeply. I think most are not and are ok with a superficial understanding at most. I will admit that sometimes digging too deeply leads to many different rabbit holes to delve into.

But when it comes to scripture, I have yet to find a rabbit hole that does not contain much hidden wealth. Today’s scripture is one of those whose rabbit holes can reveal so very much. I am going to break this down over the coming days, so I hope you stay with me as we go down the rabbit hole.

Today I will begin with the simple start of “Yea, though”. This passages starts with the end in mind. It begins by telling us “Yes” we will see valleys in our lives. Though, we do not walk them alone. We must begin this scripture with that thought in mind and know that God is with us.
