3 But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. (2 Thessalonians 3:3 NKJV)
“Lord, keep me from the evil of the day.”
We never know what we are going to walk into each day, but we can expect that our enemy will find ways to weave evil into our path. Thus, we need to start our day by asking God to keep us from these evil plans and schemes.
Worry is one of the items I put into this category. Elsewhere in scripture we are told to focus only upon the day, and not to worry about tomorrow, for the day has enough to worry about itself. But how often does the enemy have us so worried about tomorrow that we totally forget about today. We must live more in the moment, for it is all we really have. We are not guaranteed tomorrow, so we need to focus upon today. Yes, make plans, but do not be so captured by them that you miss out on each day.
Furthermore, be aware of what is going on in every moment. People have such little situational awareness that they miss out on so much. So many moments that God puts in our path that if we were only to be fully aware could we take advantage of them.
Reflect on: The day to come, ask God to keep you from evil and help you focus on what He will put in front of you today.
