Sort it Out

Do not be agitated by evildoers;
do not envy those who do wrong.
For they wither quickly like grass
and wilt like tender green plan
ts. (Psalm 37:1-2 CSB)

Have you ever watched someone you thought was not a good person flourish? Someone who got by on the backs of others and was only out for their own gain, seemingly succeed in everything they did?

Two things could be at play here. Our perceptions and the world.

Our perception of a situation could be predicated upon facts or upon our opinion. Our opinions can be flawed as they are based upon personal bias. Thus, we can find that our views on how others act or treat us can be based upon views that may or may not be as factual as we think. This can especially be true if we feel we have been wronged in some way and are holding a grudge.

Additionally, the world will always promote its own. This will be especially true in light of who we are in relation to the world and God. If our faith is strong and we are focused upon His path we are not of this world. So it will have enmity toward us. The world will no more understand us as we should understand it. But the world is fading away and nothing on this side of heaven will last but we will experience everlasting life.

So what is better, to be agitated by what we experience or to trust God and let Him sort it out?
