Walking with God

These are the family records of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among his contemporaries; Noah walked with God. (Genesis 6:9 CSB)

What better worlds could be recorded of our lives than that we walked with God.

Noah lived through in an evil time and completed a difficult task building the Ark, bringing in and caring for all the animals and then begun repopulating the world. I expect there were many times that Noah had doubts and fears. But through it all he walked with God.

When we think about our time on this earth are we striving to walk with God? Not just some of the time, but all of the time. Really making our journey through life one in which we can say we sought God more than we sought our own ends? I think when we can get to this point, when we can become comfortable with the fact that God is sovereign over absolutely everything in our lives and we trust Him implicitly, we can really find peace.

Our striving in life bring us stress and frustrations. Yes, there are moments or periods when we feel peaceful or successful, but life then intervenes and throws us back into turmoil. When we focus upon our walk, one foot in front of the other, we can keep the world at bay. We can really start to feel God’s presence in our lives. The best way to begin this is to realize that He is there every moment of every day, watching over us through the Spirit within.

With all of this in mind, begin to look at a life not lived alone but in the constant presence of God.
