Good Friday

24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree; so that, having died to sins, we might live for righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. (1 Peter 2:24 CSB)

As we consider Jesus crucifixion on this Good Friday we must think deeply upon how we have been healed by His wounds. The crucifixion makes real and poignant the pain and the sacrifice Jesus made to heal our sinful nature. He Himself bore our sins in his body so that having died to sin we might live for righteousness.

Jesus sacrifice is not just a covering of all of our sins but is a halcyon call to live differently. To make godly decisions about our choices and to focus upon fulfilling The Great Commission through our actions here on earth. It is an active calling to both faith and action.

Good Friday marks three days of great significance tracing death to resurrection. Chris died on Friday, Nisan 14 the Day of Preparation, the day when the Passover lamb was sacrificed. His death represents the death of a perfect unblemished sacrifice on our behalf.

His perfection was sacrificed for our imperfection. By His wounds you have been healed.

Meditate deeply upon this very significant day as we prepare for Easter Sunday. Consider today all that Jesus through His death on the cross for your sins. Give thanks for that sacrifice and let us look toward the renewing of our spirit and rebirth.
