My Song

2 Indeed, God is my salvation;
I will trust him and not be afraid,
for the Lord, the Lord himself,
is my strength and my song.
He has become my salvation.” (Isaiah 12:2 CSB)

As we roll into Holy Thursday looking forward to Good Friday, have you taken time each day this week to look closely at the last week of Christ life? Has this given you greater trust in Him who gave all for your salvation? If not take today and tomorrow and really dig deeper. Prepare your heart for Easter Sunday renewal.

The Gospels show us the promises of God fulfilled in the flesh. They provide a ready answer to why we are different, why our trust can be put in a God we cannot see, but a God who is near at hand. One who takes each step in this life with us and often carries us when we feel we cannot go on. Our’s should be a song of strength and trust.

For the Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my song.

Nothing else in this life should suffice. Nothing else should satiate. Everything else will fall away in the end. Everything else will rot, rust and wither. But the love and salvation of our Lord will stand the test of time and see us through to eternity and beyond.

Indeed, God is my salvation. May His goodness be ever before me. His song ever on my lips.
