18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. (Galatians 5:18 CSB)
Christ sacrifice upon the cross provided a way for the Spirit to come to each of us and lead us in our lives of faith. Christ did not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it. The law is a signpost and the Spirit is our guide.
Something happens to us, however, and we follow neither signpost nor guide. We go on living our lives the way we see fit. This is not right.
We have everything we need in Christ alone, yet we yearn for more. The materialism in our world shows us that this is more true today than ever before. Nothing is ever enough. And, yes, I am speaking to myself as much, no more, than I am to you. None of us are immune to this overwhelming desire. In fact it is one of the enemy’s most potent pills. The want for more.
But lets forget our continual desire for more from a material standpoint and look to the spiritual. Our world is trying to find every way to “spirituality” but never seeking Christ. I have heard too many times, “I am not religious, but I am spiritual.” We divorce The Spirit from spirituality. Thus, we are neither lead by law nor Spirit.
A truly spiritual person is one filled with Christ and nothing else. One lead by the Spirit. One who uses a truly spiritual lens to view this world.
