16 Look, I have inscribed you on the palms of my hands;
your walls are continually before me. (Isaiah 49:16 CSB)
Consider just how much God loves you. No, really take a minute and do not just read over the words but really give it some thought. You are inscribed on the palms of Christ nail scarred hands. Let that sink in for a moment.
Every nail, every beating, each puncture from the crown of thorns marked a moment of sin for you and I. Christ took the punishment for us and we are free to live out our salvation through His sacrifice.
You are inscribed on the palms of His hands. It is that personal to Him and it should be that personal to you and I.
Many in the world I walk in are inked. The biker community is one of tattoos and other body modifications. Some times people’s ink tells a story. It speaks to painful or maybe joyful events in life. They can commemorate others and often commemorate Christ in some way. This is a tiny discomfort, Christ sacrifice for us was monumental. His pain and suffering not only physical but spiritual in nature as God turned away for a moment. He sacrificed His one and only Son.
So consider today as you go about your business that Christ sits in heaven with you inscribed upon the palms of His hands. Walk through this day and picture your name inscribed there and thank Christ for what He did for you. For how much He loves you.
