Something from Nothing

27 Instead, God has chosen what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen what is weak in the world to shame the strong. 28 God has chosen what is insignificant and despised in the world—what is viewed as nothing—to bring to nothing what is viewed as something, 29 so that no one[a] may boast in his presence. (1 Corinthians 1:27-29 CSB)

Do you consider yourself insignificant?

Do you look upon your life and think that it does not matter?

You are wrong on both counts if you do. No one is insignificant in God’s eyes, and everyone matters.

We may not be part of the elite. We may not be a person of stature, standing or wealth. You may, like me, be ordinary. But God can do the extraordinary with the ordinary. We never really know the depth or breadth of our reach, when we reach for God.

Even in work settings I have seen the most mundane of roles become pivotal in the right circumstances. I have seen those considered lowly lifted up. I have seen the weak become the strongest person in the room.

This is because we judge the outside, but God works with the inside. He takes the meek and proves their worth time and again.

You need not be the loudest voice in the room to be heard. You need only confidence in God and what He might do with a surrendered life.
