Application

Write down this vision;
clearly inscribe it on tablets
so one may easily read it. (Habakkuk 2:2 CSB)

I have been writing both these devotions and other articles for a long time. From time to time I will go back to read older post or publications. Mainly I want to make sure that they always ring true and I was not obscuring the message by not being clear in my writing.

In life and in business I think we often suffer from not having a clear vision that we have written down. Our life goals or our business plans get obscured in flowery talk or vague descriptions that do not make them either clear or easy to understand.

I have helped a few people and a few businesses with defining mission and vision statements. I always say the same thing when doing this, ”keep it simple, make it clear, easy to understand and apply.” I think most often we get hung up on the last word in that statement. Vision or mission statements tend to get lost in the application. Life goals are the same. All the words in the world are lost without a path to application.

God designed the scriptures with application in mind as well. Thus, we have no reason to not both read and apply what we find in the Bible.
