It All

2 Why do you spend silver on what is not food,
and your wages on what does not satisfy?
Listen carefully to me, and eat what is good,
and you will enjoy the choicest of foods. (Isaiah 55:2 CSB)

Are you dissatisfied? Are you looking for more?

The world seems to offer every form of distraction and entertainment. It offers the lure of success, relationships, money, things. It offers the tangible. But what of that hole you still feel inside you? That intangible something.

Over the years, I and many others have chased every conceivable form of tangible offering. Solomon too tried everything the world had to offer. And for a man with unending wealth, he dabbled in everything but found nothing. He had it all and it all came to nothing.

How many books have been written about having a fulfilling, satisfying life. Why do we continually seek more? Why do we continually ask ”is this all there is?”

The reason is that you were born with this God sized hole within you that you were meant to fill with one thing. God. Mankind has sought gods for as long as we have been around. Before Christ, we were seeking gods. Then He came to fulfill THE God role, to fill THE God hole.

He came so that we would know that ”it all” is not all without Him.
