6 What should we say then? Should we continue in sin so that grace may multiply? Absolutely not! How can we who died to sin still live in it? (Romans 6:1-2 CSB)
Some have wrongfully decided that continuing to sin simply multiplies the work Jesus did on the cross. How wicked and sinful a generation we are to think in such a way!!
Grace abounds and should give us cause to rejoice that our sins, past, present and future have been forgiven. But it does not give us a license to continue to sin. No! It provides an avenue to a new life that we should strive to live in the best manner possible. It gives us reason for joy.
This should extend to a Christian’s attitudes as well. Even in times of difficulty we have nothing to be downtrodden over. Now no one can be positive 100% of the time. The human condition means that we will have low times. But as the old proverb goes, ”Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.” We must strive to rise above the negative and accentuate the positive.
Furthermore, walking around with a stupid grin on your face makes people wonder just what you have going on. There is some satisfaction in this, if I am really honest. It also provides an avenue to give them a reason for your continually positive nature. And we must be ready to give a quick response to the root of our joy.
We allow ourselves to be burdened with so many worries and concerns. We fixate upon the mountain that lies before us without looking forward in any way to the journey of the climb.
Positivity is infectious, if we allow it to be.
