A Reward Uncounted

10 For God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love[a] you demonstrated for his name by serving the saints—and by continuing to serve them. (Hebrews 6:10 CSB)

For most of us, work dominates our lives if we allow it. A friend once told me that I have no boundaries with my work life. Meaning my work life permeates all aspects of my life and I do not set good boundaries around it. They were correct, but my work has always been very service oriented and in IT which never sleeps.

But there is another type of work that needs to permeate our lives and that is our service to God.

Ours, is most probably a lay-person’s ministry. Meaning we are not in full time ministry. God has given us a mission field that is not full time ministry. But we are given many opportunities to minister to those around us, if we just watch for them.

And God does not forget our work. He is ever watchful for how we serve Him, ”demonstrated for His name by serving the saints – and continuing to serve them.”

There is a reward that cannot be counted waiting for us in heaven. There is a reward that cannot be counted in Christ sacrifice for our sins. There is a reward that cannot be counted to the benefit of our souls when we do good for others in God’s name.
