5 Now may the God who gives[a] endurance and encouragement grant you to live in harmony with one another, according to Christ Jesus, (Romans 15:5 CSB)
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could just live by this simple scripture!
Why do we complicate life so? Why do we fill it with everything we want and not think about others needs?
In this one line we see three things outcomes of a life in Christ; endurance, encouragement and harmony. It is ours too, to give to others. But we tend to hoard it all for ourselves.
And I am chief among sinners here. I am not calling you out without a heavy dose of it for myself. I can be a selfish, solitary creature. I am always there to call on, but my deep desire for solitude often overrides my need to give myself to others.
However, each day starts anew and today I hope to be better than yesterday. I want the Spirit to be seen in every action, so that I become less and He becomes more. In this I desire to endure, provide encouragement and live in harmony with those around me.
