Wandering

8 You have taken account of my wanderings; (Psalm 56:8a)

Life can often feel like a wandering path instead of a straight road. Even the best prepared plans go astray. We may look back over the years and wonder just how we got to where we are now.

I often say, ”Life is a lesson. You learn it when you are through.” Each path we take in life, each choice we make, provide opportunity for learning and wisdom.

To think that we have gotten where we are by accident can be our biggest mistake. While every path we take may not be necessarily a good path, each are woven into our experience. Each, for good or ill, mark another thread woven into forming the grand tapestry of our lives.

The three concepts above of a path, a lesson and a tapestry provides give us a view into how we live out our lives. Our wanderings down paths lead to life lessons that get woven into the patterns of our lives. It is up to us to grow from these patterns and, most importantly, allow God’s hand in the experience. Without God in these patterns we do not grow in the way we should. We grow outwardly but not inwardly.
