30 He must increase, but I must decrease.” (John 3:30 CSB)
There is a joy in allowing Christ to loom larger in our lives. To give up more and more of who we are to who He is and simply live a life of quiet resolve to the Spirit within.
This is where a believer can take the ups and downs of life more in stride because we can rely wholly upon the Father. It is here where we can say that God is greater than my mountains or my valleys.
So as we lean into Christ presence we can truly decrease who we are and allow that presence to level out our lives. In this we are not giving up as much as we are giving in.
In this state it is no longer we who live, but Christ who lives in us.
