12 Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who comes from God, so that we may understand what has been freely given to us by God. 13 We also speak these things, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual things to spiritual people. ( 1 Corinthians 2:12-13 CSB)
Too often we turn to our own understanding and do not take advantage of the Spirit which lives within to provide insight.
But the Spirit was given so that we might understand spiritual things. Things not taught by human wisdom, but taught by the Spirit.
But, I have found, the Spirit’s insight goes well beyond the realm of spiritual things. Or maybe better yet, spiritual things are woven into the very fabric of our lives. When we start to realize this we begin to openly look for God’s hand in every thing we do. We open ourselves to practicing the presence of God in all things.
I often say ”in & through”, as I seek God’s will in all things and God’s direction through all things. But “in & through” can mean so very many things with God.
What I do know is that relying on my own fallible understanding is the beginning of a lack of wisdom.
