5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not rely on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways know him,
and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6 CSB)
I know I have written on this passage before, but as well worn as this passage may be, it serves daily as a reminder of our walk.
I am at another point in life where I am unsure of what path to take. My understanding is weak and my way unsure. But I put faith in God who, if I will acknowledge Him in all my ways, will make my path straight.
You see, it is we who make the path crooked. We wander about seeking to find our own way, wanting to take our own path. All the while God is calling to us from down the straight way.
I have prayed fervently of late for God to open the right door and slam shut the wrong. And it seems He has answered by opening an unexpected door wide for me. Yet, I stand undecided and wanting to pound upon the seemingly closed door.
Thus, here again, I must not rely upon my own understanding (or lack there of) and look forlornly down the other path when God seems to be pointing to another path. I must rely upon His plan and His direction, setting aside my expectations.
And here is the crux of the matter; while we seek to manage our expectations, God is busy arranging our explorations.
