The God Who Wept

35 Jesus wept. (John 11:35 CSB)

John 11:35 is the shortest line of scripture in the Bible. However, it imparts a great deal in just two words.

Jesus’ humanity was shown in this singular act. How can we then not believe that He perfectly understands the human condition? Yet many put our triumvirate God so out of reach because they do not believe that he can commiserate with their situation.

We, too often, want to wallow in our sorrow. We want to feel alone and forgotten. But nothing could be further from the truth.

We have a God who wept. Who understands the depth of emotion that brings us to this state.

So when we are deep within ourselves and feeling alone, we can reach out to the God who wept and know he understands our pain.
