Grow Where You Are Planted

26 If anyone serves me, he must follow me. Where I am, there my servant also will be. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.

Grow where you are planted is a well worn phrase. It actually comes from a 15th century French saying : “Fleuris là où tu es plantée” meaning bloom where you are planted. I actually like “Bloom” better than “Grow”.

Today it too could be said “Bloom where you are transplanted”. Many of us live in a very mobile society, especially in the work world. The old values of having a job for many years have given way to the “gig” society.

However, no matter where you find yourself from a business or physical sense, and no matter what we are doing, we have a constant role in Christ. We are servants to the Lord and each have been given the task of both living good lives and reaching others for Christ. Growing in our walk and blooming in our faith.

We each have an opportunity to wake and face each day with a renewed vigor. We have an opportunity to grow and bloom, to flourish or to wither.

No matter where we have been planted.
