⁵⁰ What I am saying, brothers and sisters, is this: Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor can corruption inherit incorruption.

The simple message of the Bible is that we are are sinful beings and cannot enter heaven without Christ atoning blood. However, many believe that if they are simply a good person they will get in. And while our faith is focused upon this act and our acceptance, working out that faith is what God wants. Not just being good people, but doing God’s will, accepting His Son and living a life that points ever upward.

We cannot make our corrupt bodies incorruptible. We have no power to do so. Only through Christ is this possible and only when we accept and believe.

Our faith is not about being good. We will forever fall short. Our faith is about doing our best and allowing Christ to do the rest. It is about pointing all of our efforts to the one who has made us righteous through His righteousness.
