20 Above all, you know this: No prophecy of Scripture comes from the prophet’s own interpretation, 21 because no prophecy ever came by the will of man; instead, men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. (1 Peter 1:20-21 CSB)
Many have tried to debunk the scriptures as nothing more than a book, written by learned men, with nothing more than instructive stories. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Just look at how the scriptures have stood the test of time and more scrutiny, arguably than any other book in history. If we dig deeply we see how the old and New Testament synch together all pointing toward Jesus Christ. Every line and every word were put there to bring us closer to an understanding of God.
I believe our modern day prophets are the theologians who study the scripture deeply and write on what they find there. These men too are lead by God to reveal more and more to us from writings that is over 3000 years old. 3000 years old and still relevant today.
Thus, should we not heed the warnings and lessons we find in scripture? Should we venture to interpret with human eyes and mind what was devised by God. Yes, because God will lead us to a deeper understanding and deeper walk when we do so.
