Different

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has[a] come! (1 Corinthians 5:17 CSB)

This excerpt from my morning InTouch devotional I thought was good and wanted to pass it along; Our position in the Lord affects everything about us—attitudes, emotions, conversation, and conduct. The status quo of society no longer fits us. Instead, believers grow in Christlikeness, embracing thoughts and deeds that are pleasing to God.

We should be different from the world around us. This may make us odd in others eyes, it may alienate us at times. But being different in this way has its own reward on earth and in heaven.

We should be seen as different. We, Christians, are not of this world. We should choose to be uncomfortable at times. The easy road is wide and paved with good intentions, but the narrow path is the one to take.

I believe as Christians, we have been brainwashed to believe that being who we are in Christ is not who we should show to the world. That the marker of tolerance is more important. But it isn’t and we can exist in this world in love and peace with those around us. Daily putting our difference to use in ways that make others notice in a positive way.

We do not have to be confrontational to be different.
