When Trouble Follows

13 But when the Jews from Thessalonica found out that the word of God had been proclaimed by Paul at Berea, they came there too, agitating and upsetting[a] the crowds. (Acts 17:13 CSB)

There are times in our lives where it seems that trouble just follows us around. We may make changes to lessen the effect but it seems that no matter where we go there is some controversy.

We must first ask the question, “Is it us”, are we the one’s creating the controversy? If it is clearly not and we are sure of this it may be that we are having positive impact for the Kingdom. If so we can be assured that the enemy will be close on our heels trying to discount our work and distract others from our message.

Today if we are strong in our faith it may also that we will be on the receiving end of some level of persecution. Typically, with faith matters people are not overt. They may simply undermine our message by assaulting our character.

When trouble follows we must remain faithful, close to God and deep within scripture. Knowing that no matter what we may suffer, the reward is great.
