Divine Appointments

40 “And the King will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ (Matthew 25:40 CSB)

How often are we given a divine chance to help someone and we miss it or pass it by?

Divine appointments are the things that I think we will find, if and when God points all of them out to us, we will regret the most. This will probably be in heaven where there will be no sadness or regret, but there may be some realization of just how much more good we could have done.

I think we are handed these more often than we think as the passages before ours today point out many situations where we might lend comfort or aid. But we are busy creatures and we often do not see what is right before us. Too often the cry for help goes unnoticed because of this.

People are hesitant to reach out, even our friends. We discount a silent cry for help as someone being mad about something or just distant, or distracted. They are! Their problem is overwhelming them.

Be more keenly aware of those around you and see if one is asking for help, possibly not in words but in actions.
